Her homestead now is a happy little mix of chickens, goats, vegetable beds, cold frames, herbs gardens and fruit orchards designed make the most of a sustainable lifestyle. Over the years she began a serious education into herbalism and nutrition, including foraging wild foods and medicines, fermenting, winemaking, finding nutrition in wild foods, as well as homemade vinegars and herbal remedies.

Now with Aquaponics, the same system can become sustainable with just a few tweaks and a little ingenuity. This year the class will cover the basics of Aquaponic theory with an emphasis on system design. Sustainability is the key to making Aquaponics a viable option to feed you and your family. Propagation of plants, breeding fish and crayfish, designing building and maintaining systems while using all available resources to achieve this will be discussed. At his vendor booth Michael will have a fully operational Aquaponics Demonstration System to give you hands on experience with many of the current styles of Aquaponics. Bring a thumb drive to get a free download of his presentation to take home and begin the journey.

After his LEO career, Ken went into business and during that career, worked with action committees in an unrelated industry, but was active in action groups attempts to influence legislation that would be beneficial to the industry. Ken has worked closely with attorneys throughout his career through activism with young men who are facing child custody issues.
